It is a sad reality of human nature that many people judge a person’s worth by what they own or what they can offer them. I feel that when the direct interest disappears, so does the regard. For me, admiration and affection should be given freely and unconditionally. This is a very perceptive observation – and, sadly, one that is often true – about human nature and superficial relationships.
